Introduction
The Fae are very fond of long titles, which include endeavor, rank, and descriptive elements. Don't let the pomp fool you.
"A Sidhe General is as hard as a coffin nail. Like nothing most will ever know. Often masters of both might and magic across realms. They are rare, very often of Fae Royal blood (Kings, Queens, and even High Kings and Queens have maintained the duties of Fae Generals) and always supported by a Fae Great House. Notes: There has only ever been one Emperor. There are significantly more High Queens than High Kings. There are very, very few Fae royalty even within the small scope of relatively few Fae in existence. They are extremely rare. High Queens/Kings are even rarer than Queens/Kings by a massive factor.
Noble Ranks
- Duke/Duchess
- Baron/Baroness
- Marquis/Marchioness
- Lord/Lady
Military Ranks
- General
- Colonel
- Captain
- Second
- Sargeant
- Soldier/Knight
Examples of descriptive elements
- "Lord of all Shapes"
- "Lost & then found"
- "Of the Court of Oz"
- "Sidhe Fire Warrior"
Examples of endeavor
- "Slayer of Shadow Dragons"
- "Killer of Clowns"
- "Healer of Kings"
A full title
Full Fae titles may look something like this:
- General Gregory, Lord of the Underpath, Keeper of the Feline Claw, Fighter of Bears.
- Duke Hathway, General of the Empire, Seeker of Truth, Sidhe Fire Warrior.
- King Henry, Oath Breaker, Trickster of the Iron Flake.
- Colonel Jarad, The Wiseman of Prote.
- Fritz, Finder of Lost Things.
Some Fae titles go on for entire paragraphs (they are sometimes read alloud but Fae can also sense much of the meaning on one another before this is required. The pageant dictates a more nuanced social ranking which Fae tend to respect).
