Description
Magic works "at a lag" on Earth Realm and therefore works best by setting things in motion and slowly building over time; arranging things small and slow to cause effects. Immediate dramatic change is almost impossible. This concept is known by many names, a popular name is "The Cascade".
The opposite is so for magic in The Dreaming which works immediately and due to the chaotic nature of the environment loses coherency fast when attempting slow manipulations making long-term planned manipulations folly. Often simply called "Battle Magic".
Spells & Cantrips
- Draw Down - Draw magical energy down from the world, for later use (can be stored within ones self or in chargeable objects, usually weapons or "with me" items)
- Glamour - Change the appearance or feel of something or someone.
- Presence - Magnify your own aura and presence to frightening degrees in order to induce an effect upon those around you (fear, elation, etc).
- Summon - Force or coerce creatures to you.
- Maze - Dump creatures into a psychological and or physical maze; a trap with many routes through it where they become lost.
- Labyrinth - Dump creatures into a psychological and or physical labyrinth with a vastly long path OUT of the construct or INTO the center of the construct (primarily used to slow down creatures, or hide things).
- Pain - Inflict physical and or psychological pain upon creatures.
- Pleasure - Inflict physical and or psychological pleasure upon creatures.
- Share - Share memories, feelings, or anything one can conjure with creatures.
- Hold - Prevent other creatures from moving, physically or psychologically.
- Illusion - Cause creatures to see things that are not there.
