Magic shapes not just the power dynamics but also the culture and society of the Endless Chronicles universe. Art, music, and even architecture are influenced by magical traditions, with the Faewave movement being an example of how magic interweaves with creative expression.

Description

Magic works "at a lag" on Earth Realm and therefore works best by setting things in motion and slowly building over time; arranging things small and slow to cause effects. Immediate dramatic change is almost impossible. This concept is known by many names, a popular name is "The Cascade".

The opposite is so for magic in The Dreaming, on The Otherside, which works immediately and due to the chaotic nature of the environment loses coherency fast when attempting slow manipulations making long-term planned manipulations folly. Often simply called "Battle Magic".

Spells & Cantrips

Draw Down - Draw magical energy down from the world, for later use (can be stored within one's self or in chargeable objects, usually weapons or "with me" items)
Glamour - Change the appearance or feel of something or someone.
Presence - Magnify your own aura and presence to frightening degrees in order to induce an effect upon those around you (fear, elation, etc).
Summon - Force or coerce creatures to you.
Maze - Dump creatures into a psychological and or physical maze; a trap with many routes through it where they become lost.
Labyrinth - Dump creatures into a psychological and or physical labyrinth with a vastly long path OUT of the construct or INTO the center of the construct (primarily used to slow down creatures, or hide things).
Pain - Inflict physical and or psychological pain upon creatures.
Pleasure - Inflict physical and or psychological pleasure upon creatures.
Share - Share memories, feelings, or anything one can conjure with creatures.
Hold - Prevent other creatures from moving, physically or psychologically.
Illusion - Cause creatures to see things that are not there.

Types of Magic (not an exhustive list)

Death Magic

One of the most feared and forbidden forms of magic is Death Magic, which was mastered by the High Queen Gemini. This form of magic allows its user to kill other beings—permanently. Unlike other forms of death in the Fae world, where resurrection or transformation is possible, Death Magic erases the existence of its target from all realms, making it one of the most dangerous and heavily guarded secrets in the universe (Tumblr).

Elemental and Nature Magic

Rooted in the natural world, elemental and nature-based magic is common among various Fae Houses, especially those aligned with the Seelie Court. This magic governs control over natural elements like fire, water, earth, and air, as well as more esoteric aspects like life, growth, and decay. Practitioners of this type of magic often use it to maintain balance within the realms or, conversely, to sow discord and chaos (The Endless Chronicles).

Shadow and Dark Magic

The Shadow Court and other secretive factions utilize Shadow Magic, a form of magic that deals with darkness, shadows, and the hidden aspects of reality. This magic allows for manipulation of the unseen, making the user a master of illusions, deception, and the arcane arts that dwell in the periphery of light. Temporal Magic

Temporal Magic involves the manipulation of time itself. Though rare and extremely difficult to master, this form of magic can alter the flow of time, allowing the user to glimpse the past or future, slow down or speed up time, or even create temporal anomalies. The consequences of using such magic are severe, as it can unravel the very fabric of reality if not handled with the utmost care (The Endless Chronicles).

Cybermagic and Technomancy

In the cyberpunk landscape of The Endless City, magic has evolved to incorporate advanced technology. Cybermagic and Technomancy represent the fusion of mystical practices with cybernetic enhancements and digital interfaces. Practitioners might hack into the metaphysical realm through data streams, use technology to amplify their magical abilities, or even create sentient digital entities infused with magical energy (The Endless Chronicles) (The Endless Chronicles).
