Introduction

"The genocide of

my kind was complete, we were

myths... myths that saved you"

On the surface can be very human.

Beneath and at the extremes the Fae are alien. The Fae possess a limited hive mind.

Can create and exist in an extreme flux of surreal reality and can revel in exposing fragile lesser minds to such pure chaos.

Morally, the Fae share nothing in common with humans at their core. Right and wrong can be reversed and nothing should be assumed off-limits. The nicest seeming Fae is fully capable of murder and torture for fun by the most bizarre and imaginable means possible.

In Noble Fae, these frightening traits are enhanced.

Traditionally Fae existed in Courts. At the present time in the Age of Concordia, this is not the case as all Fae operate under the Imperial banner, although some affinity to previous factions is still evident; The Seelie Court, The Unseelie Court, and far less so smaller courts such as the Shadow Court (which has perhaps the most zealous former membership as many from the previously marginalized Shadow Court went on to be prominent figures in The Treaty and subsequently assumed roles of power in the Concordian Empire - the Concordian Empire ruling class is sometimes, quietly, referred to as the Shadow Order).

Fae are still arranged in houses, usually led by a King, Queen, or in the cases of the most powerful houses High Kings and Queens. 7-8 houses tend to dominate at any one time, and many large houses often experience large spans of time almost dormant. Most large houses have control of entire realms - although some are nomadic in nature or even covert. There are no solid rules of behavior for Fae houses, each is its own animal within the larger, singular hive.

Rivalries between individual Fae and Fae houses are common and encouraged - but rarely fatal or truly damaging. The pageant demands drama and conflict, but Fae murdering other Fae is rare even in battle the Fae tend to shatter and disable victims in a form of chivalry hard for humans to understand. Fae know they are few in number, and for the sake of the larger hive, and at this time "The Empire" will rarely kill one of their own. Noble Fae are even less likely to kill other Noble Fae but will happily humiliate them and demand very public surrender and resulting fielty.

Some Fae Kings and Queens have rivalries that span eons - but will happily sit next to one another at a feast, and even appear (and perhaps be) friends.

On the subject of High Kings and Queens, they are and indeed operate on another plane of reality, and are obviously another species (even easily separated from Kings and Queens).

Add to all this... each Fae is unique and will act as such in respect to morality, violence, emotion and empathy and agenda.
