The Fae Hive

Introduction

The Fae are a limited hive mind. They can communicate with each other psychically and are always attached to one another, distance, damage and defensive action play a part in how strong communication becomes as does emotion. Two Fae in love will have, for example, a much stronger bond than two Fae who have never met. Through the hive the Fae can sense one another, communicate, and attempt both healing and harm. Like most hive creatures, when attacked Fae have the capacity to swarm. Likewise, if Fae are threatened by non-Fae the hive is a huge encouragement to forget their squabbles and unite. The hive is not fully understood by non-Fae and is often overlooked as a tactical factor when fighting them. The hive is one of the largest advantages the Fae have over the other species. The hive extends to all types of Fae from nobles to commoners and even elementals.
